We always talk about how sharks attack people, but instead let’s talk about how this shark saved a man’s life.
Back in 2012 a police officer and his brother in law had been drifting in the Pacific Ocean for 15 weeks when a shark guided them to a rescue boat.
Mr. Toakai Teitoi was dying on his boat in the middle of the sea of dehydration when two miraculous events happened. There was a downpour of rain and a shark saved him, but how?
While Mr. Teitoi was deeply sleeping when a rescue boat parked near him. Due to his heavy sleep he didn’t realise that help was near. He then was woken up by a shark that was bumping against the hull. He then noticed that other than a 6ft shark swimming around him there was another boat. Mr. Tetoi rapidly called for help and shortly after was rescued.
“If that shark hadn’t nudged me awake the crew of the boat might have thought I wasn’t in trouble and might have carried on sailing past me.” he said.
While Mr. Teitoi was lost in the immense sea of the Pacific, he lost his beloved brother in law due to dehydration when just the day after a storm brought enough rain for him to survive.
Sharks are always portrayed as villains and evil creatures when they are harmless when not disturbed. Let’s start looking more into ‘both sides of the story’.
